Please change so that students can still do assignment after the due date. Our district allows late work until 1 week before the end of the quarter.

YES! Ideally, it would be some kind of interface where you could set separate “due dates” and “close dates” - so you could see if it were late, but the student could still do it.

I can’t open the assignment back up for students who need to turn assignments in late, so now I have to make all new assignment for stragglers and sick students. Please just mark students late rather than blocking them from doing the assignment. That gives the teacher discretion to give credit or not. I want students to have access all year long to assignments so they can constantly try for a better score. In a foreign language I want them to do the assignment over and over again. They more they hear the language, the more they remember it.
